African Safari

African Safari Cruises

As the story goes the group of companies that the African Safari Club is part of was created after a group of individuals travelled to Mombassa, Kenya in 1976 and fell in love with the country’s wildlife and landscape; they then set out to share this experience with others. African Safari Club has operated and specialised for over forty years in arranging holidays to Kenya.

Boasting an excellent reputation they have grown over that time and now own several hotels and lodgings across the Kenya coast and Safari.

With their own transfer, safari vehicles and small aircraft this group really do endeavour to make each experience a wonderful and unforgettable one. In the 1990s until 2008 they became the owners of the M.S Royal Star, a 5,600 ton ship, that offered cruises along the Indian Ocean and to its Islands. In 2006 the club began a programme of Nile cruises on board the M.S. Star of Luxor and have recently welcomed the M.S. Da Vinci and the four star M.S. Fleurette, building an impressive fleet.

All cruises offered include chartered flights and The African Safari Club also offer to book scheduled flights. Flights to Mombassa, Kenya, are booked via Monarch Airlines operating an Airbus A330 from London Gatwick to Kenya. Flights to Luxor, Egypt, are also booked using Monarch which again operates an Airbus A330 from London Gatwick to Luxor. If preferred scheduled flights from London Heathrow to Mombassa can be arranged using Kenya Airways or Virgin Atlantic.

Locations available include the previously mentioned Nile cruises, travelling from Luxor to Aswan, that include ten excursions and are accompanied by an Egyptologist. This ensures that the treasures of Egypt can be admired fully. Also available are the Kenya beaches and Safari holidays, catering for both those wishing to escape and relax and individuals seeking adventure. These beach/safari options can also be combined together to create a once in a lifetime experience.

The latest edition to the African Safari Club programme as of 2010 are the Egypt holidays on offer. From the ancient temples of Luxor to the beaches of Taba Heights the club has worked closely with representatives in the UK and Egypt in order to create the best experience possible. Numerous excursions around Luxor and other locations in Egypt are also available.

Hotels available on the Kenya coast are the Shanzu Paradise Beach Hotel, Laguna Sea Lodge, Vasco da Gama Hotel, Dolphin Hotel, Kasr al Bahar Hotel and Flamingo Beach Hotel. These are rated by the company using their own developed “shield system” that should not be confused with the international star rating, the hotels listed increase in rating from three to five shields. Safari Lodges include the Mara Buffalo Camp in the Masai Mara, Kimana Zebra Lodge, Kilimanjaro Camp, Twiga Camp and Leopard Lodge on the Kimana river, the Crocodile Camp off of the edge of the Tsavo East National Park and lastly the Sagala Lodge at the foothills of the Sagala Mountain Range.
